Unfortunately, the item was defective: the headphone jack stopped working, and no, the item was not dropped, improperly stored or subject to any unreasonable use (unless a hour long section at the gym with the player in an armband can be considered 'unreasonable use'). I had this item for less than 2 months. I loved it, although the volume control isn't the best (I never played video, but image quality seemed pretty good). The seller didn't even respond to my request for a replacement, and I am hoping that Amazon's usually excellent customer service will give me credit or a replacement. I will give Sandisk another chance--their players are reasonably priced and, when they work, well worth their price.
Assesories are completely inexpensive and it is very easy to use. This is a great product. I gave it as a gift and he loved it. screen effects and color are much better than my ipod. i would get one for myself if my ipod dies.
I thought I might be annoyed by this.In fact, if they had not mentioned it, I would not have noticed it. Nice.Cartoons, specifically Looney Tunes, are excellent on this device. However, Sandisk's converter software is very easy to use and converts the files (.avi files) pretty quickly.3. I have a rather large library of video files, converted for use with my Creative Zen Vision W. It depends on the video.I have found that Big Bang Theory has scenes which are a bit to busy for really satisfying viewing.
Many people have complained about such difficulty here on Amazon. In fact, the files do NOT play. It is very subtle in even the worst case (when viewing the interface) and essentially un-noticeable when watching videos.2. These files can play without conversion on my Cowon O2 but I was not sure if they would play on the Sansa Fuze. The subtitles are just barely readable. So, I can get my videos onto it. CNET mentioned that the screen has a bit of a dim view, due to the screen's protective layer.
In fact, a bigger screen would almost be pointless. I still watch them because I practically know everyone's facial expression by heart hahaha. Some videos have subtitles which are perfectly readable. I expected them not to play and I expected it to be difficult to convert them.
Size of screen for video viewing. Excellent. This is a beautiful, little device. Before buying this device, I was a bit concerned about the following things:1. The subtitles were useless.Deep Space Nine, on the other hand, was a bit better. There are more close-ups and the subtitles were easily readable. The level of detail in these cartoons suits the screen perfectly. You will not be able to see alot of detail in more complicated scenes. Feels high quality, does more than I expected BETTER than I expected.Buy it now.
Video compatibility. Buy two. I thought it might be just too small. In fact, it is small, of course. Also, if you use subtitles, some videos have subtitles that are too small to see. They look good, especially the simpler scenes, and even the subtitles are readable on a case-by-case basis. I will.
The cost can't be beat, but it isn't cheapy. Her two older siblings have ipods, but I just couldn't see spending the money for such a young child, and I wasn't sure how much use she would get out of it. I bought this product for my 6 year old daughter who wanted an ipod. I was able to download the songs we wanted (mp3 format) without any problem. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this SanDisk mp3 player. In fact, I may prefer it to the ipods. It is sturdy and easy to use, and I really have not found anything I am disappointed with. My daughter loves it.
This is a great and a very inexpensive mp3 player. Will do whatever an ipod will do, at half the price. As long as you dont compare it to an ipod touch , you are good.
